Jamila Powell is a mother, attorney, and entrepreneur.  Jamila enjoys sharing her steps to success, and her vision for the future.  She is the founder of Maggie Rose Salon, one of the top texture salons in the country.  She was born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland.  Jamila earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business, Business Logistics from The Pennsylvania State University.  She then returned home to pursue a career in law.  Jamila graduated from George Washington University in Washington D.C., with her Juris Doctor Law degree.  In 2004 she moved to sunny South Florida to begin her career as a Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Officer.  Jamila has always had a passion for creating and building businesses.  After becoming a Mom, she decided to open a salon to encourage people to embrace their beauty on the inside and out.  Her continued passion for entrepreneurship has allowed the business to grow and flourish.  Jamila’s goal is to open several Maggie Rose Salons around the world, to cater to men and women with all types of texture hair.
